My Vision

The pathways through the soul are often beautiful, as a glorious meadow in summer is beautiful. Filled with wildflowers of all kinds, butterflies and bees dancing above the petals, myriads of songbirds fill the trees and fill the air with their sweet songs, and trees sway in the wind, as golden sunlight shines through emerald green leaves.  These places are filled with infinite peace, joy, and the warmth of love.

But sometimes our journeys through life are seemingly far, far away from such a heaven as this. They are dark, weary, endlessly treacherous roads that drain all hope and happiness from our hearts. Fear haunts the edges of them, and you often cannot see the way ahead, even right in front of you. On these paths the sun shines dimly, offering little light, or sometimes not even at all. The world around the pathways is shrouded in deep shadows, obscured by icy tendrils of mist that chill the blood and freeze the soul.

As humans in a fallen world, we have experienced both of these places, most likely many times over, and often it seems that the darkness will never end, the suffering never cease, the tears never stop falling….but if we only could see beyond the mists, see through the shadows, we would see that we have not been abandoned…our Father is walking right beside us.  And He has no ill will towards His beloved children, He is waiting upon us to search Him out, to realize that He has never left us once, and that He never will.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

11 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. 13 Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

                                                            Amplified Bible (AMP)

We are on a great, and magnificent quest my dears. It is often dark, and fraught with peril and grief, but we must press on.  The Lord calls us according to His commandments, to pursue Him, to follow in His ways and meditate upon His precepts. He want us to fight the good fight, to run the race set before us. That doesn’t mean only when the pathways are wide and gentle, surrounded by glorious beauty. But it also means when they are narrow and perilous, surrounded by shadows where no light seems to penetrate.

Philippians 3:14-18

14 I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 All of us who are mature [pursuing spiritual perfection] should have this attitude. And if in any respect you have a different attitude, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us stay true to what we have already attained.

                                                         Amplified Bible (AMP)

“Only let us stay true to what we have already attained”  Staying true is by no means easy in any area of our life, but the enemy of our souls seems to enjoy making staying true in the Spiritual sense of the word, very hard indeed.  But shouldn’t it bring us comfort that we have already attained the gift?  Even though it seems like grasping in the wind, a hopeless reach for something that looks and feels to be entirely  beyond us…we already have it!  It is within our own soul, it was given to us at Calvary. We have already attained the peace, love, hope, happiness, salvation and grace of Christ.

Our Eden, our very own garden of paradise that the Father in Heaven has given to us, it is within ourselves already!!  Why would we want to abandon it, to not remain true to His gift to us?  Often times it is for several reasons, one being that when we are on that dark stretch of the pathway, the quest for our own Eden, the Gift that has been bestowed upon us, the treasure we have already attained, is invisible to our eyes. It seems light years away, a whole lifetime of fruitless searching beyond us….and yet we fail to recognize this great truth:

Eden is all around us. Our paradise, our safe refuge, it surrounds us. When we are on the roads of darkness, it is still there, we just can’t see it right then.  The same as the Father never leaves us, so Eden is all around us. But the only way we can see it, the only way we can seek it out, and continue on this everlasting quest to Eternal Glory, is to keep walking. Keep pressing on, go forwards with boldness, in your Quest for Eden. Do not, however, disregard the darkness in your life.  It is there for a reason, no matter how veiled that reason is.  For it is the darkness, that ultimately reveals the light in all its perfected splendor.  And one day, we will no longer tread the shadowed paths, but instead we shall run with joy, through an everlasting Eden. I will see you there my dears, and we shall run through it together.
